It’s 4:45am on a Saturday morning and I’m dragging my hungover ass out of bed. It feels like I only got into bed an hour ago, when in fact I got at least 2 hours of sleep. I’m “industry” now, I don’t need sleep, a pot of coffee and a few 5-hour Energy’s and I’m good to go. Too bad I don’t have either!
Why am I getting up at this ungodly hour? To assist in a cooking demo for Fox and Friends on the Fox News Channel. Now before I start getting hate mail about how morally objectionable Fox News is and just being anywhere in the vicinity could turn me into a syphilitic leper with a tendency have a “wide stance” in the men’s room of a train station and throw ground meat at homeless people. I’m doing this for the opportunity to work with some amazing chef’s that do wonders with a whole pig and a smoker.

I and a few other people from FCI were asked to assist the guys from “Fatty Cue” with a demo for Fox. They were doing a Labor Day BBQ special. The guys from ‘Cue came prepared. Whole Lamb on a spit, Suckling pig in a hot box, smoked lamb ribs and home cured bacon.
We pretty much just helped setup and distribute food to the gawkers standing on the sidewalk. It was a great time though, the guys from ‘Cue were great to work with, really fun and laid back. The food was amazing! Everything that we tried was spooge inducing. If you ever make it out to Brooklyn and have a hankering for some not-so typical BBQ defiantly check them out. The lamb ribs were my favorite but it was all good.

| The "B" team abusing the fat lady |
As for Fox & Friends, it was the “B” team. No Gretchen or Doocy. This was the kinder, gentler, younger crew. Probably not as “right-wing” as the weekday crew so not deserving of an “upper-decker”.
All in all it was a fun day, good food, a few PBR’s in the back of a van and we got to watch the Fox crew tie a fat woman in a straitjacket and shout at her about how O’bama is forcing the gay agenda on our elderly, secretly making a deal with Russia to sell back Alaska, keeping those coal miners in Chile trapped and drowning kittens in the Whitehouse reflecting pool.
