Had a long day scouting Manhattan. Walked from Murray Hill down to the Lower East side. Then made my way across to Broadway where I passed my school's restaurant, L'Ecole. I was so excited to see it. The restaurant was full, which is a good sign. This is where I'll be for the next 6 months!
By chance I came across a Best Buy on Broadway and had to stop in. I might be trading in my Laptop for a set of knives, but I just can't resist the calling of an electronics store.
Afterwards I made my way to T-Mobile to get local phone service setup (I had tried AT&T earlier but they wanted my first child as collateral and the still wouldn't let me make long distance calls). After about half an hour I managed to get service setup, even though my data didn't work properly and I wasn't getting 3G service. I was assured it would start working within a few hours. As I need data NOW, I switched back to my Digicel SIM. I'll give T-mobile a chance again tomorrow.
The rest of the day was spent wondering around the West Village and SoHo. Had lunch at "Bone Lick", pretty good Pulled Pork sandwich. Managed to see 1 apartment, I was able to stand in the middle and touch both opposite walls.
I had a fabulous dinner at Kampuchea. Its a small Cambodian restaurant with only about 15 things on the menu. I had the Bacon & Garlic fried rice, it was amazing. Smokey, tangy and just the right amount of spice. They cure their own bacon here and you can tell.
After I finish this San Miguel I think ill head back to the hotel and get some rest. I've got to do it all over again tomorrow. Wish me luck.

what kind of meat do Cambodians cure and call bacon? I'm curious.
